Vintage set of five stamps produced by the Sociedad Columbista Panamericana for issuance by the Ecuadoran government to honor Columbus. Reportedly the society was to share in the proceeds from their sale, but the deal was canceled. Originally dated 1936, they were later overprinted 1939 and released to the philatelic market. Mint never hinged.
